Biology and life sciences
become an area more important than ever
in science and technology.
Biology is one of the branches in natural science, concerned with the study of life. It is a science of complex systems with the concepts of genes, cells, energy, homeostasis and evolution. Life sciences, derived from the central themes of biology, are interdisciplinary fields of scientific study of diverse living organisms, employing technological advances. Current biology and life sciences are closely related to medical, pharmaceutical and agricultural sciences. Today biology and life sciences become an area more important than ever in science and technology.
GIST College Life Science Concentration has a major theme called "From Molecules to Organism." Under this theme, our curriculum provides the essential and in-depth knowledges of biology and life sciences. The curriculum includes five core courses focused on life science principles at the molecular and cellular levels. Further, students take diverse elective courses, ranging from microbiology to physiology, that provide advanced information in life sciences. In particular, we provide programs in which students participate as interns in graduate school laboratories. The programs apparently make students to experience an intial step to obtain what it takes to become a prominent scientist in life science research.
Our vision in GIST College Biology Concentration Program is cultivate future global scientists and leaders in life sciences. We provide focused core courses, in-depth elective courses and early lab-training programs, educating students to reach excellence in theoretical knowledge, creative thinking and scientific communication. GIST College Biology Concentration Progrt is proud that we do our best to achieve out fullest potential and outcomes in life science education.
