Abstract
One of the most interesting points in single molecule research on solid surfaces is not only the properties of the molecule alone but also what kind of chemical state the molecule's behavior at the surface is brought to. Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) is expected to be the most powerful tools to carry out such research. In a series of seminars, I introduce recent researches on STM-based spectroscopy to investigate morphology, electronic structure, chemical reactions, and energetic processes including transfer, conversion and dissipation at individual molecules, taking advantage of the superior properties of STM both as a microscope and as an excitation source.
