Introduction

Introduction

WQTL investigates major water quality issues and develops/optimizes advanced water treatment and resource recovery processes for safe drinking water supply, sustainable water and resource management and protection of aquatic ecosystems that are continuing challenging issues in the community of water scientists and engineers worldwide.The current main research includes:

  • Oxidation processes for drinking water and wastewater treatment
  • Fate and control of contaminants of emerging concern (antibiotic resistance genes, nitrogenous disinfection byproducts)
  • Gravity-driven membrane (GDM) filtration as a sustainable water technology
  • Resource recovery from urine (N, P) and electronic wastes (Au, Pt)
